CAD/CAM Programmer

Our dynamic client is a pioneer in the Canadian Steel Industry with extensive experience managing Laser Processing operations.

The client is looking to hire a CNC CAD / CAM Programmer for their George Town location.

Shift - Straight Days

Responsibilities

We are looking for an individual who has experience with CAD / CAM nesting programs for our metal fabrication shop. Experience with metal laser application software would be an asset.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities :

• Read & interpret CAD drawings & possess CAD knowledge.
• Utilize software packages such as ProNest, OmniBevel, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and custom ERP software to generate drawings, NC code, and support CNC machines and operators.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment, following instructions to ensure project success.
• Create 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks designs and drawings layouts.
• Generate electronic files for profiled parts or customer samples when necessary.
• Produce engineering drawings for sales order production.
• Assign CNC code and material for nested patterns.
• Optimize material utilization and minimize machine setup time by sorting shop orders into groups.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in CAD / CAM programming.
• Proficiency in ProNest, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
• Experience with OmniBevel software is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a Steel Manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Strong communication skills and attention to quality assurance are essential.
