Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Analyst - 12 Month Contract
Job description
This is a full-time contract for an IT Infrastructure Analyst position, reporting to the IT Coordinator responsible for Canada.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing second level support to all users in Colgate and Hills locations in Canada for local applications and platforms, troubleshooting IT problems, advising on the appropriate actions, and assisting with implementing and maintaining the appropriate IT infrastructure to ensure continued and reliable operation of systems.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd level IT support and services to end users in scope (headquarters office, warehouse and remote), ensuring all work is performed in accordance with our internal ticketing system
- Support all IT infrastructure including desktops, laptops (Windows and MacOS), mobile devices, LAN connectivity, Cisco Voip telephones,AV equipment, network printers, and identified applications.
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues, and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.
- Assist end users with security related incidents, performing virus scans and addressing and / or escalating to the Global Security team accordingly.
- Support the IT onboarding process of new employees, including providing access and familiarization to all relevant technology required to successfully perform their duties.
- Assist in the management of the company's leased assets (computers, servers, network equipment, etc.), keeping track in the appropriate systems and supporting the replacement / installation when appropriate.
- Be involved in the monitoring of the server room for 24 / 7 systems operation and proper environmentals, being available for out-of-hours emergency maintenance and support when necessary.
- Support business continuity for all the IT infrastructure (servers, network, etc.) at sites in scope. Escalate to their management, and interact with central IT teams when required.
- Adhere to all corporate best practices and ensure compliance with IT standards via completion of infrastructure checklist.
- Support IT management with preparation for audits (corporate and external) providing all necessary documentation and answering all related questions.
Education and Experience
- Associate's Degree, Technical Certification or Equivalent Experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or Engineering preferred
- A proven track record of performance with at least two (2) years of IT Infrastructure related work / experience in similar size organization required
- In depth understanding of PCs (Windows and MAC OS), networks, Audio Visual conference technology and mobile devices required
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology and functionality in a fast paced environment, adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals and cultures
Technical Expertise
Competent to expert skill level in implementing and supporting the following technologies :
- LAN (including CISCO wireless and printing),
- End user devices (PC’s, Smart Phones, Tablets),
- Windows 10 / Mac OS / Server 2016 / Windows Active Directory
- Google G-Suite Workplace
- Audio Visual / Video conferencing solutions
