Your contribution!
As the Insurance Director in the renewable energy sector, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of insurance and risk management activities within our organization.
Your primary focus will be to design and implement comprehensive insurance policies and risk mitigation strategies to protect our assets, projects, and stakeholders against various risks, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Your day-to-day!
Insurance Strategy and Policy Development : Develop and execute a comprehensive insurance strategy aligned with the company's risk appetite and business objectives;
Evaluate existing insurance policies and identify coverage gaps, recommending adjustments as necessary;Review and negotiate insurance contracts with carriers to secure optimal coverage at competitive rates.
Risk Management : Conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks associated with renewable energy projects, operations, and investments;
Collaborate with various departments to implement risk mitigation measures and enhance safety protocols;Monitor insurance claims and analyze loss data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Compliance and Regulation : Stay informed about the latest insurance regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the renewable energy sector;
Ensure the company's insurance practices adhere to all legal and regulatory guidelines.
Claims Management : Oversee insurance claims processes, working closely with internal stakeholders and insurance carriers to expedite claims resolution;
Provide guidance and support to project teams during insurance claim investigations.
Insurance Portfolio Optimization : Continuously assess the company's insurance portfolio and coverage needs based on project developments and risk profiles;
Work with brokers and underwriters to tailor insurance programs to suit specific project requirements.
Budget and Reporting : Manage the insurance budget and provide regular reports to senior management on insurance performance, claims, and risk exposure;
Recommend budget adjustments and cost-saving measures related to insurance programs.
Your skills, our requirements!
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with insurance carriers, brokers, and internal stakeholders;
- Analytical mindset, capable of identifying and assessing complex risks and proposing appropriate solutions;
- 10 years minimum proven experience as an Insurance Director or similar leadership role in the renewable energy or related industry is an asset;
- In-depth knowledge of insurance principles, risk management practices, and legal regulations within the renewable energy sector is an asset;
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

- The position can be based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters.
- This position is a P5 level.
