We have an opportunity for a role Business Development Manager , to join our Branded Editions team . This position is a one-year temporary full-time role for maternity leave coverage.
As a Business Development Manager , your focus is to identify growth opportunities, build strategic relationships, and drive initiatives that contribute to PressReader’s long-term success.

In this role, you will :
Sales
- Develop sales pipeline for targeted areas, as assigned
- Prospect and identify targeted sales opportunities
- Engage with members of Branded Editions and Content teams to sell hot leads identified
- Demo and create proposals as required, supporting the sales cycle
- Achieve sales targets assigned, negotiate and close contracts
- Liaise with the Launch team, R&D, Product, Accounting, and other teams as required to ensure launch
- Support the Branded Editions team to capture all data available in CRM
- Collaborate with the CRM team to have the most updated reports and tools available to generate the report
Financial :
- Engage with team to understand financial and unit targets (number of projects), work to exceed targets set quarterly and annually
- Dive deeper into the profitability of each project, and where a project does not achieve profitability targets, outline the strategic reason for non-achievement
- Categorize partners based on size and revenue potential, based on requirements from product and R&D
- Ensure publishers comply with their financial responsibilities and pay the development fees and monthly fees in a timely fashion.
- Participate in the development of processes and procedures that drive revenue growth for PressReader and / or BE partners.
You are a great fit if you have :
- At least 3 years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the publishing industry selling software or technology-related products
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a focus on efficiency
- Exceptional sales skills to persuade and pitch ideas effectively
- Strong ability to negotiate and close deals beneficially
- Experience selling in multiple geographic regions, and to organizations of varying size
- Proficiency with CRM and other sales tools
- A goal-oriented and self-motivated attitude
- The ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of financial principles and ability to create targets and forecasts to drive revenue
- A positive mindset and a collaborative approach
Bonus points if you have :
- Bachelor's or higher degree in business administration, economics, marketing, or related field.
- Proficiency in any second language
- Demonstrated tech-savviness
- A keen interest in published media, media intelligence, or analytics
