Meridia Recruitment is excited to partner with CORE Engineering Inc. in their search for a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join their team in St.
John’s, NL! This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative mechanical design and drafting for various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise and creativity, thriving in a collaborative environment dedicated to continuous improvement and client satisfaction.
What you will do :
- Develop mechanical designs and draft HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building control systems.
- Collect existing system information through site visits.
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs.
- Utilize computer-assisted design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
- Complete heat loss calculations using Carrier HAP software.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical and project documentation according to codes and standards.
What you will bring :
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP preferred.
- Strong knowledge of reading, interpreting, and producing design drawings.
- Familiarity with local and national building codes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in engineering consulting firms such as CORE Engineering will be considered an asset.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
