Volunteer Duration :

Start times April, May & June

Stipend $75 per week

All volunteer positions are voluntary and full-time. There is a stipend paid of $75 per week. Position duration varies from a minimum of 1 month up to a maximum of 7 months.

Applicants who desire longer volunteer periods will be considered first. The work schedule is 5 to 6 days per week, 50 + hours per week, (usually 9 to 10hr days).

The schedule depends on the needs of wildlife patients and is rotating and includes days, evenings, split shifts, and weekends.

Animal Care Volunteer Positions :

Our volunteers learn a variety of wildlife rehabilitation skills and techniques. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to : patient admissions, assisting with species examinations, species-specific diet preparations, feeding orphaned babies, gavage feeding, indoor cage and outdoor enclosure cleaning, medication administration, wound management, and assisting with turtle egg harvesting and incubating.

Wildlife patients we rehabilitate are :

Raccoon, fox, bat, skunk, squirrel, opossum, mink, weasel, flying squirrel, cottontail, groundhog, chipmunk, muskrat, coyote, turtles, etc.

Accommodations :

We provide free-of-charge onsite accommodations in a shared house with other volunteers, you will have access to kitchen, bathroom, and laundry facilities.

WiFi is also available. Please state on your application whether or not you would like to be considered for accommodations.

Qualifications :

At least 18 years of age

Commitment to the length of the volunteer position

Must be dedicated and reliable.

A valid driver’s license is an asset but not needed.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must commit to working hours according to the needs of our wildlife patients.

Must be team-oriented and work well with others.

Applicants who have their rabies vaccinations please let us know in the email when you apply! If you do not have your rabies vaccines they are required and some health care plans do cover the costs of the vaccines so please inquire about that through your health care plan.
