Bilingual Medical Office Assistant - Remote

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our client's team in the insurance industry. This role offers the flexibility of working remotely, providing you the convenience of working from home while contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will support the National Group Disability organization, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities :

  • Process Access Requests by reviewing the request and consent to identify correct information and authority to proceed.
  • Review access requests meticulously, redacting third-party information to prevent privacy breaches.
  • Refer privacy breach incidents to the employee’s leader for resolution and reporting.
  • Handle emails across multiple group email inboxes.
  • Set up disability claims and manage follow-ups.
  • Handle Client and Control Reports.
  • Issue payments for vendor invoices.
  • Conduct data entry from claim forms to the claims payment system (Navigator).
  • Manage correspondence with claimants, clients, or other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with privacy protocols.
  • Track, search, and retrieve offsite files.
  • Handle media files.
  • Assist with new client onboarding and file transfers.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, including ordering IT equipment and access.
  • Provide IT equipment support for existing employees.

What you will need to succeed :

  • Post-secondary education (college or university level) is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
  • Strong PC skills with experience using Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and planning abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage high workload volumes and conflicting deadlines.
  • Fast learner who is analytical, proactive, and takes initiative.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies / issues.
  • Demonstrates tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
