The Innovation and Digital Solutions (IDS) team at Health Shared Services (HSS) is committed to creating valuable and innovative digital experiences. We transform complex problems into digital solutions that are valuable to Albertans and staff members across all Provincial Health Agencies (PHA). HSS is looking for an experienced web advisor for a temporary position. The senior web advisor will be working on a project with the Pathway Unit at Primary Care Alberta. This program provides healthcare professionals with reliable, evidence-informed clinical, patient, and referral pathways for specialty care. The IDS team is leading the redesign to deliver a new, data-driven tool to enhance these referral and clinical pathways. To help make the program successful, digital tools and solutions are needed. The senior web advisor will be key in helping meet digital needs of the pathway unit. Senior web advisors at HSS are excellent analytical and conceptual thinkers who translate user needs, business objectives and technology capabilities into innovative solutions.

Description

Reporting to the Lead of Digital Communications Innovation and Digital Solutions, the senior web advisor will be involved in all aspects of the information architecture, wireframes, website design and prototypes to create, build and publish content and page layouts based on the needs of the pathway unit, using an enterprise level CMS including developing HTML and supporting CSS. The senior web advisor will align projects with business objectives, construct detailed work plans, achieve milestones and communicate the results. Productive, collaborative relationships are key to creating online solutions that meet the needs of the public and Provincial Health Agencies (PHA) staff and partners. As such, the senior web advisor will build and maintain new and established relationships with client groups across the province.

Required Qualifications

• A diploma or degree in web design, development, user experience, multimedia and / or communications (or equivalent).
• Minimum of five years practical experience in information architecture, web content management (ideally Drupal), web development, and user centered design approach.
• Solid understanding of responsive design and mobile standards.
• Solid understanding of web user experience and design patterns, including industry best practices.
• Ability to create and define information architecture, web layout, including wireframes and visual mock-ups, based on complex requirements.
• Understanding and experience with interaction design, and user research methods and tools.
• Able to identify and evaluate potential opportunities to improve existing web, apps, mobile and interactive designs.
• Ensure development of consistent user experience across all areas of the website.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present to a variety of audiences, and mentor other members of the web team.
• Proven interpersonal skills, client relations skills and ability to work in a multi-stakeholder and multi-team environment.
