NDT Assistant

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Current API 653 certification
• Additional CGSB and API certifications are considered an asset
• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Current First Aid, H2S Alive, Confined Space Entry / Rescue, Fall Protection, CSO, EWP and WHMIS training
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Valid drivers license and clean Drivers Abstract
• Detail oriented and well organized with strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team, as well as independently

ASSETS :

• Experience in : Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) technology, large storage tank inspections up to 300 in diameter, CCME inspections
• Minimum of 3 years experience performing aboveground tank inspections

ROLE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES :

• Technical understanding of API 653 standards and all supporting documentation
• Understanding of applicable provincial and federal regulatory requirements for API 653
• Project coordination and delivery
• Field inspection and work planning
• On-site schedule logistics and schedule management
• Technical writing and field inspection reporting skills
• Project and process quality control monitoring

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Perform API 653 inspections, assessing inspection results, reporting all findings, and recommending any required repairs
• Act as a crew lead, manage and motivate a crew of NDE technicians who will assist with all inspection activities
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with both clients and co-workers
• Coordinate all on-site schedule logistics and contractor management
• Observe and follow safety rules and practices, and other safety requirements for all projects
• Perform other job related tasks as assigned by Management
