The Faculty of Arts & Science invites applications for the following anticipated course offerings in the fall / winter 2024-25 terms :

DIGF-3008 : Atelier III : Investigation (1.0 credit)

FALL 2024 : 9 / 4 / 2024 12 / 3 / 2024; Monday and Thursday 3 : 10 PM - 6 : 10 PM; Blended)

COURSE DESCRIPTION : This studio-seminar course provides students with the opportunity to further develop their analytical and problem-solving skills in a collaborative praxis (practice through research) environment with the engagement of faculty and industry partners.

Atelier III : Investigation is a theme-based course. The core seminar topic is developed on an annual basis through a faculty and student curriculum retreat process.

Engagement with industry partners is a key component of the course and underpins student-driven projects. Atelier III : Investigation is a prerequisite for Atelier IV : Synthesis.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • The successful applicant should have a terminal degree in art, design or relevant discipline and / or equivalent professional / practical experience
  • Experience teaching at the post secondary level is considered an asset, equivalent relevant experience will be considered
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment for students, staff, and faculty

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Sessional compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6,871.

00 (per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.

These positions are subject to budgetary approval and satisfactory enrolment levels.
