Key Accountabilities :
Assist in implementing the validation processes and procedures as per the DAATS validation strategy.
Reviews test plans and scripts, test results, test reports and all other validation related documentation.
Ensure teams conduct their respective validation activities following the established defect management and test management processes and all other NAV CANADA policies and processes.
Collect the necessary evidence to support gate reviews and GO / NO GO decisions and to demonstrate compliance with internal and external audits.
Work with the technology vendor to ensure that validation activities are performed in a timely manner and according to NAV CANADA policies and standards.
Participate in defect triage meetings, Test Readiness Review meetings, and Test Exit Review meetings.
Assist in defining the overall concept to establish test environments to support all validation activities.
Support the DAATS team in using the appropriate tools for requirements, testing, defect management and validation reporting.
Assist to create suitable training material and provide training to teams on topics related to validation.
Job Requirements
Education :
Graduated from a recognized university or college with a degree in computer science or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience :
At least 3 years of experience with validation of complex real-time systems.
Experience in creating deliverables such as validation plans and validation reports.
Experience in assisting teams to plan and conduct validation activities; and monitoring and reporting validation progress using metrics.
Experience in supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance existing processes and tooling.
Knowledge :
Good understanding of testing / validation principles, standards and how to apply them to large-scale and complex projects.
General knowledge of project management processes and procedures.
Knowledge of requirements / test management tools and defect management tools.
Abilities :
Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to facilitate a common understanding of the validation objectives, validation activities, and the required amongst staff.
Ability to write clear, cohesive, and concise documentation that is easily understandable by colleagues, management, and stakeholders.
Ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical staff and management.
Ability to contribute to the development of test scenarios, test scripts and the overall traceability matrix.
Personal Suitability :
Skills to work independently as well as with the rest of the team.
Skills to work collaboratively with customers, internal stakeholders, vendors, and consultants to ensure a successful completion of all validation activities.
Team player who can engage with diverse roles such as Human Factors specialists, PRIs, operational staff, system engineers, system safety specialists, technical services staff, etc.
Working conditions :
Occasional travel may be required.
Hybrid : This position is based at the Ottawa ANS, and requires an on-site presence a minimum 3 days per week.
