Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic

is excited to collaborate with our client, a seasoned Heating and Air Conditioning company located in Regina, Saskatchewan, who is looking for a skilled Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic.

Job Description :

As the Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling residential central air conditioning systems, as well as commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Additionally, this individual will handle combined heating, ventilation, and cooling systems. The work will span across diverse settings, including commercial and industrial environments, as well as residential homes.

Job Duties :

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or specifications.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components using hand and power tools.
• Measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
• Troubleshoot, start up, and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
• Test systems for leaks, recharge with refrigerant, and perform routine maintenance.
• Repair and replace parts for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
• Prepare work estimates, invoices, and document all work orders.
• Supervise apprentices, provide mentorship, and ensure clear communication with clients.

Qualifications :

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program
• Complete relevant safety training courses
• High school diploma or equivalent education. Additional technical training or post-secondary education in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Capable of performing the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and climbing ladders or scaffolding as necessary.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, as the position may require travel to client sites and job locations.

What you can expect :

• The hours vary based on the scheduling requirements. This often is affected by the weather. You will work 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime.
• Monday Friday : 8am-4 : 30pm
• $54 / Hour
