We are looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer

We are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer with a strong background in construction engineering in the infrastructure sector to join our team, based out of our Vancouver office. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, execute, and manage the design of a variety of structural projects. You will work in a team environment, preparing structural engineering designs and related documents, and help lead a team of engineers, EITs, designers and project managers.

A Day in the Life (Responsibilities)

• Lead preliminary to detailed design of infrastructure structures, including concrete foundations, concrete and steel bridges, support of excavation components, and other components such as steel frames, connections and temporary structures.
• Carry out estimates of project costs, complex analysis and calculations, design review, and preparation of reports, proposals, and contract documentation.
• Collaborate with the project team to develop drawings and specifications.
• Perform new structural designs, evaluate existing structures, and perform inspections.
• Interact with clients to support ongoing engineering projects and to develop new clients and new projects for Allnorth’s team.
• Interface directly with project managers, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations.
• Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets and with high-quality standards.
• Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues with the PMs as they arise.
• Offer support, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members and EITs.
