Monks is a global Creative Production partner that works with some of the coolest clients on the planet, and we're looking for an Account Director to join our Vancouver, Canada team.
About the Role
As the Account Director, you will serve as the team captain within the portfolio, driving projects forward by managing the internal team and acting as the liaison between clients and our teams.
This position sets the tone for partnerships, driving collaboration and ensuring that everyone is aligned with our shared goals.
The ideal candidate will balance client needs with company ambitions to determine the vision, and then make sure everyone is clear on that vision and how to get there.
We're looking for an energetic individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who's comfortable taking on different tasks and solving problems-and can do it all while bringing a positive spark to people's lives.
Responsibilities :
Creative Development / Production
- Provide clear and succinct creative direction and feedback, and contribute to strategic initiatives offering a sound POV.
- Be a day-to-day leader and source of clarity and solutions by company teams across disciplines.
- Lead project meetings and presentations internally and with clients.
- Understand the dynamics of clients' business and category, and their implications on our work.
- Understand the bigger-picture agenda and issues on the account, and manage projects with those in mind.
- Work comfortably across multiple projects / brands with minimal senior oversight.
- Push clients for clarity and help them understand what they need beyond what they ask for.
- Feel comfortable having difficult conversations internally and with clients.
- Keep the account running smoothly across projects and work streams.
- Intuit potential complications and issues, anticipate the needs of senior clients through information gathered from their direct day-to-day clients and effectively manage up, bringing solutions to senior account leadership.
- Understand our staffing and profitability, anticipate resourcing issues / needs and advise senior account leadership.
- Understand the creative priorities of .Monks and help guide internal teams and clients.
Business Objectives / Financial
- Comfortably manage without authority, and be responsible for the development of status reports, budgets, SOW, revenue tracking.
- Take cues from leadership to set the tone for the team, keeping the team positive and focused on solutions.
- Serve as a .Monks ambassador, spotting new project opportunities and understanding the latest capabilities to bring added value to clients.
About You The essentials :
- Bachelor's degree and Advertising agency experience is required.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Account Management at an advertising agency.
- Advanced knowledge of Google Enterprise Suite.
- Experience and knowledge of traditional and digital marketing methods including : broadcast, films / content, banners, print, OOH, social platforms, website, digital platforms.
- Able to take direction and be a self-starter.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Strong client-service orientation.
- Flexible to evolving responsibilities and last-minute changes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- A willingness to travel when needed.

What We Offer
Media.Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Media.Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting.
Media.Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
