Officer, Admissions & Alumni
Responsibilities :
- Select mission-appropriate students for Greenwood College School by supporting and facilitating all aspects of the Admissions and enrolment process (school tours, answer queries, provide prospective families with appropriate information, perform interviews and follow up as required, participate in the decision making process)
- Coordinate and / or support Admissions and Advancement events
- Contribute to the school’s external relations programs by building strong relationships with alumni, alumni parents, prospective families, current parents, student ambassadors, donors, volunteers, external contractors and staff
- Provide project management support to the Executive Director, Admissions and the Executive Director, Advancement & Community Engagement to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the Admissions and Advancement Offices
- Collaborate with Executive Director, Admissions regarding Student and Parent Ambassador Programs
- Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive alumni relations program, oversee the alumni annual giving program
- Manage the alumni constituent records in Raiser’s Edge, assist with data entry and the upkeep of constituent records in Raiser’s Edge
- Organize events for and liaise with the school alumni
- Support Advancement initiatives such as the annual appeal
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters
- Other Advancement and Admissions duties as required to support the functioning of these programs
Qualifications and Personal Characteristics
- Prior experience preferably in the Advancement or Admissions office of an educational or other non-profit setting
- University degree, college diploma or combination of continuing education and experience
- Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills
- High degree of diplomacy and tact
- Passionate about connecting with people
- Sound judgement and professional demeanor
- High attention to detail and proven ability to meet tight timelines
- Strong focus on service excellence
- Ability to multi-task and adapt well to change
- Ability to prioritize work effectively, manage a full workload and meet deadlines
- Strong technical skills and advanced proficiency in Google spreadsheet and presentation software
- Creative problem solver with a solutions-oriented approach
- Ability to work evenings on occasion to support events
- Appreciation of a small school / small office environment
- Understanding of Greenwood’s mission and values
