Industrial Painter

Aerotek is hiring a fulltime Industrial Painter for the Marine Industry

Description :

Aerotek is hiring for a shipyard and boat repair service yard specializing in services for fish boats, tugboats, barges, and custom float structures.

The Industrial Painter will be working on various projects.

Main Job functions :

• Fishing vessels, tugs, barges
• Prep the area
• Stripping paint
• Hand tooling
• Painting (re finishing)
• Willing to learn how to sand blast they will be taught.
• General labour tasks
• Sand blast in the AM and Paint in the PM
• If they don’t know how to mix paint we will do it for them but will need to learn if they know then they will do this themselves.

Must Have :

• 1-2 years’ experience with sandblasting
• 1-2 years’ experience with painting
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
• Ability to wear a full sanding suit
• Ability to lift 50lbs

Nice to Have :

• Welding Experience
• Fitting Experience

• Ability to work independently in a busy environment.

Work Environment :

• Work primarily outdoors but there's undercover
• Working in the yard
• Some work may be done 25 feet high
• Wearing a sandblasting suite

DRESS CODE :

• steel-toed safety boots
• safety glasses / goggles are provided by the company
• Sometimes they have extra covys or tyvax suits.
• Team of 3
• Bring their own boots and jackets and such.
• Prefer they have their own mask (could provide worst case)

Location : Richmond

SHIFT TIME :

• 7 : 30am - 4pm
• OT may be required.
• Travel to off-site locations may be required.
