Founded in 1963 as a manufacturer’s representative of HVAC equipment, Olympic International ( Olympic ) is the region’s largest provider of HVAC solutions serving British Columbia and the Yukon from its North Vancouver offices and Kelowna office.

Olympic International fulfils HVAC equipment application and system needs by working with mechanical engineering firms and selling directly to building owners, mechanical contractors and construction (EPC) firms, with the capacity to support any industrial, commercial, or industrial project.

Olympic has established itself at the forefront of electrification in the new construction market for heating and cooling systems.

In recent years, the company has grown significantly since the City of Vancouver and surrounding municipalities have begun to prioritize sustainability, with the provincial government following suit and establishing mandates for electrification and the use of renewables for all buildings.

As others in the industry catch on, Olympic International’s early focus and unparalleled service in the new construction and retrofit market is a unique selling proposition that has allowed them to emerge as one of the most dominant players in BC, specifically capturing the majority of market share selling and servicing heat pump technology.

Role Overview :

With tremendous growth of the business in the last few years, Olympic is now seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to review the current state of the business and make strategic decisions to elevate the organization as it continues to grow.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a critical senior management position responsible for full oversight of daily operations as well as a responsibility for strategic leadership of Olympic International Sales’ management team.

The Chief Operating Officer will be accountable for the performance of multiple departments including sales and business operations, technical engineering, and project management.

A partner to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer is also expected to execute the company’s vision, implement the strategic management cycle and be an active and visible leader of growth and development throughout the organization.

Educational Requirements :

• The ideal candidate is an inspiring, operational leader who brings a sound technical background and experience from a medium to large construction or construction services business.
• Alternatively, they come from an environment with parallels to the HVAC industry involving technical sales, field operations and servicing / repair.
• An operational leader with a strong financial background would be an asset.

The base compensation range for this position is targeted between $200,000 $250,000 plus bonus. The exact compensation range may vary depending on the candidate’s skills and experience.
