Job Overview :
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for guiding and ensuring positive employee and labour relations, coaching managers on effective leadership behaviours and actions, and advising internal clients on performance management, policy and CBA interpretation, compliance, and terminations.
The HRBP will be a point of contact for managers on using the HRIS effectively, including reporting and metrics, and will work with the HR team on various projects and initiatives regarding onboarding, employee engagement, recognition, leaves management, offboarding, and compensation.
Alpine operates from BC to Ontario. This role may support managers and employees throughout Alpine.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide HR support to an assigned portfolio of internal clients
- Conducts regular meetings with Operations and other departments in order to provide support and guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, and labour relations.
- Manages and resolves employee and labour relations issues
- Conducts workplace investigations and completes necessary reporting
- Establishes positive relationships with union representatives and manages labour relations issues effectively.
- Works with management to resolve grievances in a timely manner
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Provides guidance and interpretation on HR policies, employment legislation, and the collective agreement
- Identifies training needs for managers in order to develop effective leadership skills
- Responsible for rolling our corporate HR initiatives and programs, and may liaise with facilitators and vendors to ensure consistent delivery of programs.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with reporting and metrics would be an asset.
- Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset but not required.
- Reliable transportation to various sites required.
Working Conditions :
This is not a remote / work-from-home role. The HRBP is expected to work on-site at Head Office and from time to time may be required to travel to other Alpine sites in Canada to conduct investigations or meetings, provide coaching, conduct employee feedback sessions and facilitate learning.
This position generally works Monday to Friday 8 : 30am to 5 : 00pm Pacific time but may require you to work outside of these hours for emergencies or time sensitive requests.
