PRIMARY ROLE : The position of an Earthworks Project Manager reports to the General Manager of Earthworks and must be an Alberta resident.

The primary role(s) include estimating, project management (including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budgeting, liaising with the client and other factors necessary for success) developing and maintaining good client and supplier / vendor support and relationships to improve prospects within the industry.

RESPONSBILITIES & KEY TASKSEstimating and Proposal Writing.Track and control project costs resulting in the successful completion of all projects within the established timeframe and budget allowance.

Award work tasks to sub-contractors by administering bids through a competitive process ensuring the maximum value of services purchased.

Problem solve arising issues as needed regardiing labour, equipment, materials and contracts to facilitate the resolution of any conflicts to minimize the disruption to the completion of projects.

Meet with client(s) and work forces on-siteEnsure all corporate and client health and safety policies and procedures are being implemented correctlyParticipate in the construction of Health and Safety Policies and Project specific Safety.

Business development activities by identifying and developing relationships with prospective clients within the construction industry.

Maintain relationships to produce bid / sole source opportunities for Nelson.SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSKnowledge of excavation and earthmoving a mustAdditional qualification in environmental sciences an assetMust be able to work collaboratively in a Team settingExcedllent analytical and project management skillsCritical thinking skills a mustSolild knowledge of MS Office(paticularly Excel) Word, MS Project, MS Teams and Adobe productsExperience with project management principlesAbility to multitask and perform under tight deadlinesStrong English verbal and written communication skillsAbility to run projects with minimal oversightInterpersonal sklls a must - ability to nurture and maintain trusting relationshipsExperience in business developmemnt and client management is an asset.

Post-Secondary Education / Designation : Bachelor’s degree / diploma / certificate in environmental sciences or equivalent preferredPMP Designation with 5 years minimum experience in related field.

Safety Training / Certifications (compulsory upon hire)1. Valid, clean class 5 Canadian driver’s license2. WHIMIS 20163. First Aid / CPR4.
