Job Description :
Our North York client, is a well known and respected real estate / asset manager looking to add an experienced Senior Director of Property Accounting to help manage a large team in the corporate head office.
If you are an experienced Finance leader with strong Property Accounting / Reporting experience, this is a fantastic leadership role.
You must have superior knowledge of accounting practices as applied to real estate development, property management, cash flow forecasting, consolidated financial and management reporting, CAM and Tax billings.
This role is an excellent opportunity to lead and direct the success of the overall Financial reporting. The Senior Director Financial Reporting and Compliance will be responsible for :
- Oversee and manage the Property Accounting department, which has responsibility for the consolidated and individual property financial reporting and budgeting for a portfolio of properties including retail, apartments, and industrial
- Responsible for the timely and accurate monthly and quarterly reporting of properties
- Monitor and ensure compliance with the requirements of the various management agreements and leases
- Review significant transactions (i.e. refinancing, tenant move-in, revenue recognition). Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on a timely basis and participate in the due diligence and statement of adjustment phases, as required
- Ensure year-end CAM, tax and charge-backs are billed in a timely manner
- Continually monitor and review accounting processes and procedures and recommend changes as appropriate to improve internal controls and / or efficiencies
