HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC / HET
Firma Contracting is an underground utility contractor currently working on civil projects in Saskatchewan. We have an exciting opportunity to work with our project management team as a Heavy Duty Mechanic / HET.
This position is based in Saskatoon.

Role and Responsibilities :
- Repairs on construction equipment in the shop and on site as needed
- Regular mechanical maintenance and servicing
- Inspect equipment for defects and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Repair and replace defective parts, components and / or systems
- Trouble shooting and investigating
- Sourcing parts
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and that it meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications
- Providing input with equipment purchases
- Completing documentation for preventative maintenance
- Follow HSE program and documentation requirements.
Requirements :
- 4th year Apprentice or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or HET
- Or equivalent experience with references to back up experience
- Class 5 Driver's License with Air Brakes and clean Driver's Abstract
- A minimum of 3 years experience working on heavy construction equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills
- Superior mechanical aptitude
- Shop and / or field work experience
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
- The ability to lift and manage 50 pounds without assistance
- Great attitude someone who wants to be part of a tight knit team
