MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our client an architectural services consulting firm. For over 40 years, they’ve been a trusted partner of developers and construction professionals providing architectural, planning, and interior design services for projects located across Western Canada.

Dedicated to excellence, creativity, and sustainability, they’re recognized for their expertise in retail, residential, mixed-use, commercial, and senior health-care projects.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will work closely with one of the Senior Associates on wood frame multi-family and commercial projects from start to finish.

Don’t get us wrong though this is not a company where you’ll be micromanaged! Given the size of their portfolio, you will own your own projects, be client-facing, conduct site visits, and oversee the entire projects from design, through to contract administration and completion.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience in the Canadian Architectural industry (preferably in BC), transferrable or demonstrated project management experience, experience working on multi-family wood frame projects, and a collaborative, driven, and inquisitive mindset.

If you’re a Senior Technologist, Junior Project Manager, or Project Manager looking to take that next step in your career and own meaningful projects start-to-finish while working in a family-oriented environment with a reputable company, this is the role for you!

Requirements

  • Graduate of a certified Building Technology or Architectural program in a professionally recognized institution.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the Architectural Industry (BC experience preferred).
  • 3+ years of project management experience or equivalent including the coordination of a team during design and construction documents preparation.
  • Multi-disciplinary experience, specifically townhomes, mixed use residential and multi-family residential, both new designs and renovations
  • Demonstrate design sensibilities while being pragmatic and efficient in the production of working drawings.
  • Broad skillset and proven ability to run projects independently;
  • In-depth knowledge of the BC Building Code Part 3 and ASHRAE 90.1 (understanding of NECB would be an asset).
  • Understanding of sustainable design considerations.
  • Familiarity with municipal approval processes.
  • Experience providing construction services and conducting field reviews.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD, and working knowledge of Revit and Sketchup.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
