As part of our Data Science and Machine Learning team, you will design, build, and optimize systems for data collection, storage, access, and analytics at scale.

This includes Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence Model Design and Construction, responsible for developing, programming and training the complex networks of algorithms that make up Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence to develop applications and systems.

You will work on client engagements related to research and development across a wide range of domains including understanding and improving Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence, addressing bias and fairness in algorithms, embodied and interactive solutions on GCP, Azure and AWS.

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Data Engineer to join our fast-growing dynamic Cloud & Data team. As a Data Engineer Senior Associate, you will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and maintaining data related projects, enabling our client to deploy analytics, advanced analytics and AI models.

As a Data Engineer, Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Meaningful work you'll be part of

  • Data Integration : Design and implement processes for data acquisition, storage, transformation, and retrieval from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity but also seamless integration of large-scale datasets allowing our clients to fully leverage the value of their investment into their Data Lake and alike.
  • Automation : Develop and implement automated processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), reducing manual intervention and enhancing reliability via leading practice on data pipeline orchestration
  • Mentorship : Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers and peers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team
  • Security and Compliance : Ensure that data handling practices comply with industry standards and regulations, maintaining the highest levels of data security and privacy.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with our clients business stakeholder, their data engineer and data scientists, AI researchers, and software engineers
  • Innovation : Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data engineering, AI, and machine learning technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our clients data infrastructure and capabilities.

Experience and skills you'll use to solve

  • Progressive experience in data engineering with a strong focus on building and managing large-scale data infrastructures.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and relevant data engineering frameworks and tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop). Ideally some hands-on experience in key Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, PySpark , TensorFlow, PyTorch , SQLAlchemy , and Dask
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and / or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada.
