Production Manager
Our client is a well established meat processing and manufacturing company, recognized for producing high-quality meat products and upholding the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and operational excellence.
The Production Manager will oversee daily operations within the meat manufacturing facility (cutting, grinding, smoking and packaging), ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety regulations are consistently met. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and in-depth knowledge of meat processing practices.
Responsibilities :
- Plan, organize, and manage meat production processes, processing (cutting, grinding, smoking, sausage making), packaging, and storage.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and safety.
- Implement and maintain compliance with food safety standards (HACCP or local regulations).
- Lead, coach, and develop production staff to maximize performance and engagement.
- Monitor production costs, waste, and efficiency, implementing improvements where needed.
- Maintain and coordinate equipment and machinery maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Analyze production data and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Enforce occupational health and safety protocols across the production floor.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Meat Technology, Butcher, Sausage Maker or related considered an asset.Minimum 5 years of experience in meat processing food manufacturing production management.Strong knowledge of meat / protein processing operations and regulatory compliance.Proven leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.Salary in the 80-90,000 range depending on experience.
