Job DescriptionImportant Note : We are looking for a Journeyman Machinist with a specific skill set as below :

Work consists of 80% Manual / 20% CNCManual Equipment

Lathe Machine, Vertical Milling, Horizontal Milling, Surface Grinder, Brand Saw & Hand Tools / PreparationCNC HAAS Mini MillSchedule :

Monday to Friday (8 hour days)

Specific Responsibilities : Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.

Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers .

Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations .

Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process .Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerancesSelect the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.

Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures .

Prepare samples according to CSA, ASTM and ASME standards & customer requirementsConfer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical informationResponsible for completion of task safety evaluations, near miss and hazard reporting as required

QualificationsEducation : Third to fourth the year apprentice or certified journeyperson, holding a valid recognized credential

Certification : Working toward Interprovincial Standards Red Seal

Experience : 3 + years

Specific technical skills :

Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.Ability to work well with others & independently.

Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.Works well under pressure.Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
