The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit.

Greenstone Mine is seeking a Geological Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Exploration and Geology, the Geological Technician is responsible for playing an important role in the implementation of RC drilling programs, assisting with grade control and other production activities while ensuring safe operational practices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE :
- Practice safe behaviours, report hazards, incidents, and unsafe situations
- Ensure the timely and accurate collection and submission of RC drilling and blast holes samples to the assay laboratory;
liaise with the laboratory
- Assist with installation and pick-up of blast movement monitors
- Assist with delineation of ore / waste boundaries in the field
- Assist with monitoring the material movement to the process plant and stockpiles pad
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Self-motivated and safety conscious
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience working around heavy equipment safely is an asset
- Candidates must demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in language of operation - English
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail
- Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- Minimum of College / CEGEP Certificate or Diploma Mineral Exploration Techniques, Mining Exploration Techniques, Earth Resources Technician, Mining Engineering Technician, Technologie Minerale (Geologie) or equivalent
- Advanced organizational skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Advanced understanding of sampling procedures and QAQC
- Surveying experience with differential GPS
- Valid Drivers license
- Ability to safely operate a ½ pick-up truck
- Ability to safely lift rock samples and shovel gravel
- Prior experience in an industrial setting is an asset.
LOCATION
This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
