The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is an arm’s-length federal agency responsible for the shared stewardship of the lands and waters that make up the Port of Vancouver, Canada’s largest port. Our mandate, as outlined in the Canada Marine Act, is to enable Canada’s trade objectives on behalf of all Canadians, ensuring the safe movement of goods through the Port of Vancouver while protecting the environment and considering local communities.
Manager, Development is responsible for delivering initial phases of the development cycle for VFPA lands. This includes reviewing long-term market forecasts, recommending property acquisition and development strategies, preparing project plans and definition reports, preliminary engineering, undertaking site preparation works including utility and servicing installations, and negotiating contracts with developers. This position also coordinates development authorizations and works with internal and external stakeholders to obtain approvals to proceed with construction.
This role facilitates long-term development strategies for potential port acquisitions and existing port lands.

Working environment : Normal office conditions with travel to meetings in Vancouver, site visits and occasional out-of-town trips.
MARINE TRANSPORTATION SECURITY CLEARANCE
The incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid Marine Transportation Security Clearance as this position is required to access restricted areas information as defined by the Marine Transportation Security Regulations.
