Intermediate Design Engineer - Water & Wastewater Projects
Our client is seeking an Intermediate Municipal Engineer to join their Water & Wastewater team at their Mississauga office.
This role focuses on delivering projects related to linear collection and distribution infrastructure. As part of their Water & Wastewater conveyance group, you'll contribute to their expansion in this dynamic market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Delivery : Participate in planning studies, preliminary designs, detailed designs, tendering, and construction phases.
- Design Execution : Work under the guidance of Senior Project Managers to design municipal servicing projects, including treatment facility civil works, force mains, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains, and feeder mains.
- Team Coordination : Coach, mentor, and coordinate junior staff.
- Project Management : Monitor project budgets and schedules and engage in project control activities.
- Client and Stakeholder Liaison : Maintain communication with municipal bodies, utility companies, and approval agencies.
- Construction Support : Provide engineering support and coordination for Contract Administrators and Field Inspectors on construction projects.
- Documentation : Assist senior staff with shop drawing reviews, payment processing, change orders, and preparation of project design and record drawings.
- Commissioning Support : Participate in start-up, testing, and commissioning activities.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years in the design and construction administration of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Certification : Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), preferably in Ontario.
- Technical Expertise :
- Proficient in condition assessments, trenchless technologies, and pipeline rehabilitation.
- Knowledge of Ontario Environmental standards and guidelines.
- Familiarity with planning, approvals, and permitting processes.
- Experience in project management and project controls, particularly in municipal water and sewer projects, is an asset.
- Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Leadership : Strong leadership and presentation abilities, with experience leading meetings and presenting to clients.
- Technical Proficiency : Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Civil 3D is an asset.
