Design Engineer – Nacelle
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Design Engineer – Nacelle will support general aerospace design and repair engineering activities, with increasing responsibility on nacelle‑related structures.
Key Responsibilities
General Design Engineering
- Produce and update engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation.
- Apply established engineering principles to support structural design, repairs, and minor modifications.
- Support design reviews.
- Ensure engineering data is accurate, complete, and compliant.
Nacelle Design Focus
Support engineering activities related to nacelle components (fan cowls, inlets, thrust reversers, fairings, acoustic panels, etc.).Apply existing knowledge of nacelle structures and continue developing nacelle‑specific expertise.Support repair development and design updates.Analysis & Technical Support
Perform basic structural assessments and engineering calculations.Assist with the preparation of substantiation and technical justification documentation.Support investigations related to non‑conformances and in‑service findings.MRO, Shop Floor Support, Quality & Compliance
Work closely with Production and Quality to ensure designs are practical and executable.Provide engineering support to the shop floor and participate in problem resolution.Understand and incorporate MRO constraints such as access, tooling, and turnaround time.Follow established engineering, quality, and design assurance processes.Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.Support audit preparation and technical reviews as required.Development & Continuous Improvement
Actively develop technical skills in aerospace design and nacelle structures.Contribute to standard repair development and engineering best practices.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in aerospace, manufacturing, and MRO.Exposure to aircraft structures and / or nacelle systems strongly preferred.Practical experience with CAD tools (CATIA V5 / V6 preferred; NX or SolidWorks acceptable).Working knowledge of aerospace materials and basic structural concepts.Familiarity with engineering documentation and configuration control.Solid engineering fundamentals with practical mindset.Ability to work with limited supervision on defined tasks.Strong attention to detail and documentation quality.Collaborative and open to feedback.Interest in developing technical specialization.Bilingual (French and English).
