Box Bus has Immediate openings for full-time or part-time, permanent drivers with a Minivan or Cargo van owner-operators only for last-mile delivery in Ottawa and nearby cities in Ontario, not Quebec.
Please note we do not provide vans for you to drive.
This position requires you to have your own Cargo van or Minivan. (No cars, pickups or SUVs) Ideal vehicles are Transit Connect, Dodge Pro Master Econ, Nissan NV200, Toyota Sienna or Caravan / Montana / Pacifica.
Cargo vans like Sprinter work well provided you have a V6, not some huge V8.
You are driving your own van so N licenses are acceptable.
Deliveries are within Ottawa and nearby cities in ON not in QC, but in one tight, dense zone each day, not all over the place.
9 : 30 am start times, 5-10 hour days. Shifts are available weekdays. Part-time and Full-time where you customize which weekdays are available.
Busy days have 100+ stops for $400+ / day ($3.25 / stop)
Works out to $30-40 / hour, more for top performers.
Essential worker position, so you'll have work even if another lockdown occurs.
Requirements :
Safety Vest (Class 2) (100% Mandatory at Warehouse, not on road, but I advise wearing a vest while delivering.)
Must provide a vehicle for the work. Minivan or cargo van.
Winter / All-Weather Tires (Not All-Season October-April)
Can safely get in and out of your van multiple times a day.
Have a smartphone with a data plan.
Have a valid (standard license for cars) driver's license.
Able to pass a criminal background check.
Excellent English communication skills.
Preferred :
1+ year of courier experience in the Ottawa area.
Customer service background.
A can-do attitude.
Time management skills.
