Acara Solutions is looking for Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst for our Client located in Scarborough, ON-Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst will be a part of a rapidly growing Accounting and Finance team with opportunities to collaborate with various departments including, Engineering, Purchasing, Product Design, Sales, Project Management, and more-The Financial Analyst or Senior Financial is responsible for ensuring that accounts and financial records meet established standards and criteria.

  • The Financial Analyst or Senior Financial duties include analyzing financial documents, recording, and verifying transactions, as well as producing payroll.
  • The Financial Analyst or Senior Financial will be reporting to the Controller.-Use QuickBooks to prepare and record assets, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information-Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling bank transactions, resolving discrepancies-Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payables and receivables-Assists in the preparation of Monthly Financial Statements-Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results-Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts;

preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries-Summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss, and other statements-Manages and produce payroll by initiating computer processing, printing checks, verifying finished product-Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential-Monitors Inventory and COGS status monthly -Manages payroll using QB Accounting System (Timesheets, Payroll Remittances)-Enters monthly adjusting journal entries -Accounting for intercompany transactions-Manages wire transfers-GST / HST, WSIB, EHT Reporting-Maintains effective filing system-Additional responsibilities and special projects to be provided on an ongoing basisRequired Skills / Qualifications : -Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting or Finance -Minimum of 2 years accounting experience-Minimum of 2 years' experience with general ledger functions and the month-end / year-end close process-Minimum of 2 years' experience with accounting software packages, mainly QuickBooks-Minimum of 2 years' experience with general ledger functions and the month-end / year-end close process-Minimum of 2 years' experience with implementation of an ERP is a definite asset-Minimum of 2 years' experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is a definite assetPreferred Skills / Qualifications : -Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and GAAP-Familiarity with financial accounting statements-Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables-Accuracy and attention to detail-Secured or in-process relevant certification (CPA) or equivalent experience-Secured or in-process relevant certification (CA, CGA, CMA Or CPA)-Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills-Multi-tasking-Working under tight timelines-Fast-paced, changing environmentAdditional Information : Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screenAleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct, and Aleron's strategic partner, SDI) are Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employers.
