TheCentral Okanagan Food Bank is looking for anenthusiastic CommunicationsCoordinator to join their dynamic Kelowna team on a fulltime basis.
As thesuccessful candidate you will nurture engagement with allstakeholders and local community through customized and meaningfulmarketing initiatives that promote ongoing support for theorganization.
Incollaboration with other members of the Development and Operationsteam you will have both internal and externalfocuses.

Responsibilities :
EventsandFundraising :
- Supportand manage all thirdparty fundraisers. Ensure the success of ad hocand planned fundraisers by providing the necessary communicationmaterials and marketing assets aligning all efforts with COFBvalues mission andmandate;
- Assistin the marketing assets and accountable timelines for flagshipevents;
- Leadwith enthusiasm and confidence. Inspire and empower individualsservice groups corporations and beyond to support COFB s causeeffectively conveying the impact of their contributions withpassion andclarity;
- Buildsteward and maintain a pipeline of thirdparty organizers andcommunity partners to maintain and increase engagement year overyear;
- Bea dynamic presence at in the community ensuring the best possibleoutcomes by maintaining high energy and leaving lasting positiveimpressions in everyinteraction.
Communicationand DigitalPresence :
- Sharethe COFB story in a way that captivates and endears theorganization to the community. Create press releases blog postswebsite content newsletter marketing materials collection bins andsignage that resonate from an accurate and empoweredplace;
- Developand schedule cuttingedge content for traditional and digital media.Engage and inspire community advocates across a multitude ofplatforms including social media creating a strong and vibrantsupportbase;
- Optimizemethodologies to measure effectiveness of social remarketingcampaigns across multiple channels. Use your analytical skills torefine organizational strategies and maximizeimpact;
- Approachunfamiliar trends and new opportunities with curiosity and vigor.Be willing to experiment and innovate without the fear of failingor fallingshort;
- Researchdesign and present branded options for volunteerengagement / retention internal team cohesiveness to be proudly wornout incommunity;
- Createcontent and manage all social media accounts for theCOFB.
AdvocacyandAdministration :
- Measureresults maintain detailed and accurate events files such asdatabase contact and financial information for all thirdpartyinitiatives;
- Assistin the gathering of research and other relevant informationregarding the social issues that are related to the mission of theorganization and what the community caresabout;
- Supportand lead initiatives that help the COFB team understandstakeholders better such as stewardship grids event surveys andtracking to ensure recognition and stewardship policies areconsistently evolving andfollowed;
- Discernwork priorities work autonomously and meet deadlines with littlesupervision anddirection;
- Collaborateand foster a dynamic and passionate work environment andperiodically provide administration support to other members of theCOFB team to support equally motivated and driven employees of theorganization;
- Managedonor stewardship program and follow thru on feedback loop to allstakeholders on the impact and meaning of theirgift;
- Performother duties asassigned.
Requirements :
- Demonstratedexperience in fund development andstewardship;
- Relatedcommunity college or university degreepreferred;
- Relevantexperience in nonprofit fundraising including the development ofindividual giving agency relations and food aidprogramming;
- Demonstratedknowledge of fundraising trends and successful fundraisingstrategies;
- Exceptionalrelationship management including written and oral communicationskills;
- Competencyin Word Excel PowerPoint Canva and Mail Chimpprograms. Experiencein Google Analytics anasset;
- Familiarityand knowledge of donor databaseprograms;
- Graphicdesign skillsexperience oreducation aplus;
- Abilityto relate effectively with diverse audiences including boardmembers major donors foundation staff media outlets and communityaudiences;
- Highlyorganized and flexible with the ability to work autonomously tomanage multiple priorities tasks and relationships in fastpacednonprofitenvironment;
- Validdriver s license and reliable transportation to attend donorbusinesses schools events and other related locations throughoutthe Okanagan valleyrequired;
- Thisposition may require occasional evening or weekendwork.
Thisis a fulltime onsite opportunity. Salary will be aligned withexperience level and is anticipated to start between $52000 to$58000 per year.
