Our client, located in Burnaby, B.C. is looking to bring on a Project Manager on a full time basis. This role is to provide inspection, survey, design engineering, and project implementation support worldwide to owners, operators, and regulators of floating assets using subject matter experts in the fields of naval architecture, marine engineering, project management, environmental stewardship, and marine operations, with extensive experienced in the marine sector.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Oversee other project managers that are leading smaller to medium sized projects.
  • Lead resource management meetings and strategic resource planning for short-term and long-term company objectives
  • Manage budgets, schedule, and scope for projects, change orders (intra-office, focused BBY)
  • Lead or assist in development of various proposals including scoping, scheduling, and pricing.
  • Participate in development of business where opportunities are identified, includes presentations and exposure.
  • Act as owner’s representative for construction projects for new construction and refits. May require trips / travel to construction sites for short durations.
  • Participate in executive management strategies, Accounts receivable review, work in progress reviews.

Required Skills :

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering is desired. Diplomas may be accepted with sufficient employment experience.
  • Required - a minimum of 10 years’ experience in shipbuilding and / or marine consultancies with demonstrated increased levels of responsibility.
  • Certified project management qualification a distinct advantage (e.g. PMP), but not a requirement.
  • Experience handling large and small projects, bids and / or proposals.
  • Detailed understanding of technical projects (refit and / or new design) using a variety of project management techniques and methods.
  • Experienced with Earned Value Management.
  • Shipyard and in Office experience necessary.
  • $2M-$500M CapEx Experience
  • Security Clearance : Reliability and Controlled Goods required*
