JOB PURPOSE
The Project Coordinator assists the construction management team in the completion of project-level contract administrative activities required for successful job completion.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Site Safety
- Assist in Pre‑Job Hazard Assessment and development of Site‑Specific Safety Plan in collaboration with the Superintendent & Safety Department
- Participate in the development of Work Plans for job‑specific tasks
- Ongoing monitoring and identification of potential site hazards with Superintendent, Foreman, and Crew‑members
- Assist in monitoring field operations for compliance with the Prime Contractor (where applicable), company delegation OH&S Manual, and WorkSafe BC regulations and guidelines
- Assist in monitoring work to ensure it is carried out with consideration to potential 3rd party liabilities
- Assist in ensuring all on‑site workers & staff complete a Project Specific Orientation
- Assist in monitoring site cleanliness and housekeeping
- When required, participate in site‑related Incident Investigations
- Assist in monitoring cleanliness and organization of vehicles, equipment, and site facilities
- When on site, participate actively in Daily Work Plans, Site Inspections, & Tool Box Meetings
- Perform a minimum of 10 Safety Tours per year
Project Execution
Assist in the development of project Quality Management Plan(s)Lead the development of Traffic Management Plan(s)Assist Construction Manager with materials sourcing and procurement (Purchasing)Assist Construction Manager with submission and maintenance of mix designs, detail drawing, shop‑drawings and product dataAssist Construction Manager with submission and maintenance of source‑acceptance dataLead the development and certification of Construction Engineering plans and designsAssist the Superintendent(s) in the development, distribution, and maintenance of Construction Layout DrawingsAssist the Construction Manager and Superintendent with Logistics planning and schedulingAssist Construction Manager in the cost estimation, document development, and submission of Contemplated Change Order responses (RFCO’s)Assist the Construction Manager with the accurate and timely completion of Daily Work Records and Extra Works Reports for monthly progress billing(s)Maintenance of document logsLead and maintain Division’s Equipment Tracking systemAssist with site‑level survey layout, including data compilation, modeling, and use of laser total stations and drone imagery for construction planning and as‑built documentationQuality Management
Lead the maintenance of project documentation (SharePoint or project collaboration software)Lead the documentation and reporting for project‑related NCR’s, RAR’s OFI’sParticipate in the Integrated Management System internal auditing processTraining and Development
Seek and engage in skill‑development opportunitiesSupport professional growth of Foreman and key crew membersQUALIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications
2+ years of experiences coordinating projectsExperience in bridge construction activities and processes, or structural concreteFamiliarity with applicable standard specifications (MoTI, MMCD, WorkSafe, and Traffic Management)Self‑starting and motivatedAble to remain effective and decisive in stressful situationsDemonstrated understanding and respect for corporate and divisional reporting structureStrong communication skillsStrong planning and organizational skillsA demonstrated desire to learnDemonstrated attention to detailAbility to read and interpret site plans / blueprints and look up specification from MoTI / MMCDHave a working knowledge of typical construction phasing processes (startup, execution, close‑out)Have a working knowledge of change management proceduresHave strong site‑level Survey and Layout skills working from control pointsComputer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, ERP software, Civil3D, S‑Frame, & project collaboration systemsDesirable Qualifications

The Structures Project Coordinator is a key developmental position within the company. Providing leading‑edge technical support to Superintendents and Construction Managers, the Project Coordinator provides critical support to the project team.Interacting daily with both internal and external contacts, the Project Coordinator is expected represent the Division and company with professionalism.Pay : $70,000 - $80,000 per year
Location : Port Kells (Surrey) office with projects across the Fraser Valley
