Assiniboine Community College campuses are located on the traditional territories of Treaty No. 1 and Treaty No. 2, and the shared traditional lands of Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dene and Anishinabek / Ojibwe peoples, and the homeland of the Metis Nation.

For more than 60 years, Assiniboine Community College has been providing exceptional learning experiences that have been transforming lives and impacting the community through applied education and research, including novel, customized community-based education and training partnerships with local organizations and communities.
Across its campuses in Brandon, Dauphin, Portage La Prairie and Winnipeg, Assiniboine offers its over 4100 students more than 60 unique certificate, diploma and advanced credential programs across a variety of disciplines and is currently building on ambitious plans to grow through additional and expanded programs designed to align student outcomes with the local and national labour market.
Assiniboine’s 320 faculty follow the philosophy of learn by doing’, combining theory with hands-on learning inside dynamic learning environments that include classrooms, labs, kitchens, shops, fields and a sustainable greenhouse.
Assiniboine boasts flexible delivery of programs through a variety of approaches, including face-to-face, distance and online, blended learning and integrated programs.
It is in this exciting context that Assiniboine Community College seeks a Director of its Centre for Learning and Innovation.
Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Student Affairs, the Director will be responsible for providing visionary leadership to a team of 7 direct reports and the development and implementation of innovative institutional educational strategies and a robust, program-level quality assurance process.
They will oversee all pedagogical development, including curriculum design and the integration and utilization of education technologies, and will foster alignment between the strategies and practices of the Centre with institutional goals.
The Director will collaborate with college leaders, faculty and external partners to enhance teaching methodologies and promote a culture of teaching and learning excellence and high-quality academic programming.
Additionally, they will champion initiatives to foster inclusivity and diversity within the learning environment, while also managing the Centre’s resources effectively to support its mission and objectives.
The Director of the Centre for Learning and Innovation will hold an advanced degree in education, instructional design, or a related field, showcasing previous teaching experience and active connections to relevant national professional associations relevant to teaching and learning.
Extensive leadership experience in education, particularly in curriculum development and innovative teaching methodologies, will be evident in their track record.
The successful candidate will be a strong, effective communicator, and will bring an ability to collaborate effectively with college leadership, faculty, staff, and students, drawing upon best practices towards leading teams towards institutional goals.
A proven ability to lead quality assurance processes and integrate technological advancements into education for improved outcomes will be key strengths.
The Director will possess a strategic vision, organizational acumen, and a dedication to creating dynamic and inclusive teaching and learning environments that meets the needs of diverse faculty and students across a wide range of disciplines.
