Job Title : Financial Analyst

Job Responsibilities

• Analyzes weekly labour performance against the performance management baseline (PMB) budget
• Assists Control Account Managers prepare quarterly estimate at completion (EAC) forecasting
• Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance reports against PMB and EAC
• Develops and prepares actionable operational metrics measuring against the PMB and EAC
• Provides Program Controls team support during the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting consolidation into the overall Shipyards and Seaspan PMB budgets
• Assists in the development of analytical reporting to enhance Operations understanding / requirements in support of Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis process
• Gathers and analyzes cost and timesheet data, prepares management summaries
• Researches cost variances against monthly spend, budget, and forecasts
• Adheres to established processes and offers insights for improvements for greater standardization and efficiency
• Develops and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Performs additional ad hoc analyses and other duties as assigned

Hard Skills

• 3+ years experience in financial analysis including reconciliation of data, variance analysis, month-end close, journal entries, and budget forecasting
• Advanced proficiency with Excel including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and pivot tables (no macros required)

Soft Skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, required to engage with senior level stakeholders
