Ingénieur contraintes - Stress Engineer

• The ommercial aircraft Programme is looking for six (6) Stress Engineers, specialized in Metallic Structures (f / m) to join our team based, Québec within the Customer Services department.
• The In-Service structure Engineering department is in charge of providing efficient repair solutions
• You will be part of a team supporting the airline in-service fleet on repairs of aircraft structure and is responsible for justifications from a static stress point of view in a timely manner.

As part of the Customer Service Team, you are performing complex static and damage tolerance analysis for metallic parts while working in close collaboration with design colleagues to provide repair solutions.

Methods include the use of both classical hand calculations and computer techniques to develop efficient repair solutions to satisfy airworthiness requirements and customers (Airlines / Maintenance Overhaul and repair ).

• Near Montreal, where the operations include programme management, engineering, customer support & services, as well as the programme’s main final assembly line.
• Your Challenges
• You will be responsible for analyzing damage reports and approving repair solutions from a stress point of view, in accordance with relevant certification requirements of all components and / or assemblies structures (the whole Airframe).
• You will be answering complex challenges in a multifunctional context, using all possible options that are matching customer needs.
• You will also work within a transnational community & extended team with the Toulouse and Australia sites, typically liaising with them on a daily basis.
• Your Main Tasks And Responsibilities Will Include
• Interact with a multidisciplinary team in the development of structural repair solutions;
• Perform static strength and damage tolerance analyses for specific or generic structural metallic repairs in support to theleet;
• Support the completion of various aircraft structural manuals such as Aircraft Structural Repair Publication (ASRP) and Aircraft Maintenance Publication (AMP);
• Prepare or review stress analysis reports covering repairs or allowable damage limits to metallic structures;
• Present generic repair analyses to Transport Canada engineering team for concurrence.
• Ensuring the A / C safety and airworthiness, reporting all unsafe conditions,
• Coordinating proposed repair solution with actors and considering the implications of Airworthiness regulations, Materials and Processes, Aerodynamic effects and any other function as required,
• Promoting and supporting continuous improvement and innovation initiatives of the Daily Repairs organisation through selected projects, providing added value to the A / C operator.
• Delivering repair instructions in accordance with the relevant certification / airworthiness requirements and Airbus process and methods.

This role may involve some travel for business and as such you must be able and willing to travel accordingly.

Your Boarding Pass

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a relevant experience of minimum of eight (8) years in stress analysis in the aerospace industry;
• Good knowledge of aircraft metallic structure stress analysis (practical experience on A220 structures is an asset);
• Knowledge of damage tolerance analysis (experience with NASGRO is an asset);
• Knowledge in interrogating aircraft structure repair drawings (CATIA V5 is an asset);
• Good understanding of applicable airworthiness regulations (experience with Transport Canada is an asset);
• Knowledge of Customer Operations, product Integrity / Liability and maintenance operation is an asset;
• Dynamic person with initiative, a strong sense of responsibility and customer oriented;
• Organized, able to manage your time and prioritize tasks effectively, while working toward tight deadlines;
