School Administrative Assistant III – Continuing Eligibility List

The Greater Victoria School District No. 61 is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Administrative Assistant III (SAA3) to be added to an eligibility list for continuing positions across the district. The SAA3 position ranges from a 10.5 month to a 12-month term at 35 hours per week.

The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $260 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes teachers, administrators, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists.

Reporting to the Principal, this position oversees the administrative services of the school, including coordinating office procedures, records management and supervising office staff. This position works in an environment of a high volume of work with constant interruptions and changing priorities.

Candidates should have at least two years’ advanced administrative experience and a one-year post-secondary Office Administration Certificate, including courses in accounting, supervision, records management and computer skills, although related education and/or experience will be considered. Applicants must also have the ability to quickly learn new applications as required and possess a demonstrated level of competence and commitment. A Clerical test and a Bookkeeping test will be conducted as part of the selection process.

The rate of pay per the CUPE 947 Collective Agreement is $35.15 per hour, plus benefits after successful completion of a probationary period.
