Job Description
Our public sector client is seeking payroll Data Entry Clerk on a 1 year contract with possibility to extend. This role is fully on site downtown Toronto near the University.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clerical support.
- Regularly interact and liaise with stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and workflow within the department.
- Engage with the Manager of Communications to ensure alignment with department goals and strategies.
- Serve as a liaison between unionized workers and support staff within the Communications team.
- Handle payroll data entry for unionized staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform financial duties including reconciling invoices and ordering materials as required.
- Track apprenticeship hours accurately to support training and development within the department.
- Execute data entry tasks with high accuracy and efficiency, maintaining department records and databases.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience with payroll data entry
- Experience with payroll processing and understanding of basic payroll principles.
- Familiarity with data entry practices and the ability to manage large sets of data accurately.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with financial processes, including invoice reconciliations.
- Proven ability to order materials and manage inventory effectively.
- Preferred experience with Maximo, SAP, and IFS systems for asset management and financial operations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders, from supervisors to unionized workers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to meet departmental goals.
