Job Description

Our Engineering department in the Calgary office seeks a motivated Structural Engineer to support projects across North America and globally, primarily in mineral and mining projects. The candidate will assist in structural design, drafting, and design team support.

• Conduct work in accordance with sound engineering and business practices.
• Create and review technical documents, including design calculations, drawings, details, and specifications from conception to final design, according to established standards and procedures.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements, are delivered on or ahead of schedule and on or under budget.
• Review client specifications, relevant codes, standards, and best practices during the design process.
• Identify and design improvements to optimize overall cost within project specifications.
• Prepare and communicate technical concepts and project updates clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate closely with engineering team, external suppliers, and contractors to identify and implement optimal technical solutions.
• Work with other disciplines to resolve technical issues and integrate design solutions.
• Ensure safety and quality are built into all supplied and developed products.
• Review constructability during detailed design and availability of field installation design for reliability.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, preassembly, erection, and maintenance of equipment.
• Perform shop and site visits to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering documents, and company quality expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
