Description

We are seeking a dynamic and well versed Senior Data Engineer to orchestrate our Data Lake team, with a focus on data curation, report creation, and data feed management.

The ideal candidate will possess the qualifications to champion the development and implementation of end-to-end data pipelines using advanced data engineering skills to ensure scalability and effectiveness of data integration solutions.

Location : CAN, Ontario, Toronto, 200 Bloor Street East

Hybrid : 3 days (Tues., Wed., Thur.)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of data integration solutions, including API integrations and data feeds.
  • Use expertise in big data and cloud computing to ensure solutions are scalable, efficient, and effective.
  • 5 years of experience leading data engineering initiatives, demonstrating the ability to drive successful outcomes and mentor junior team members.
  • Previous leadership experience in designing, developing, deploying and supporting data integration solutions, including API integrations and data feeds, ensuring scalability and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience in building out table structures to host multiple data entry points, ensuring scalability and efficiency to meet diverse customer needs.
  • Proven track record of applying Azure Databricks, ADF, ADLS, and Synapse to design and develop end-to-end data pipelines and processes supporting data ingestion, curation, visualization, and delivery.
  • In addition to these key qualifications, the successful candidate will drive the setup and support of Azure Data Share, using their expertise to facilitate efficient data sharing and collaboration

What we are looking for

  • 5 + years of data engineering experience, building out table structures to host multiple different data entry points to serve multiple customer needs
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Databricks, ADF, ADLS, Synapse etc.
  • Hands-on experience on designing and developing scripts for ETL processes and automation in Azure data factory, Azure Databricks and PySpark using Python, Spark, and T-SQL
  • Good understanding of data modeling and ability to apply different techniques within a cloud platform
  • Knowledge of Azure networking Subnets, private endpoints, firewalls etc.
  • Knowledge of GIT / Jenkins using pipelines for deployment
  • Knowledge of implementing azure technologies and networking via terraform

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

CAN, Ontario, Toronto, 200 Bloor Street East

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education / training.
