THE ROLE
STRIVE is partnered with a Not-For-Profit organization as they seek to hire a Bookkeeper for a 2-4 week temporary assignment.
The client is currently going through their audit and require a Bookkeeper to support the finance function by handling the AR, AP, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, tax returns, and other bookkeeping services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and balance various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts.
- Prepare the trial balance of books and maintain general ledgers.
- Prepare financial statements.
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax, and other bills.
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
- Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services.
- Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports as needed.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience 2 years+ as a bookkeeper / accounting clerk / junior accountant.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software and MS Office, especially Excel and Sage 50.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills.
