How will you create an impact :

The Executive Director, Business Enablement is responsible for the organizations digital technology platforms and solutions that enable greater employee productivity and streamline internal operations.

This leadership role is responsible for connecting healthcare experiences with core platforms, enabling the delivery of healthcare services through technology-driven initiatives and advancing provincial strategy mandates to improve patient care.

This role will be also responsible for driving innovation and leading a portfolio of technology applications that will enable and advance staff, patient and provider empowerment through technology.

As a member of the Digital Health Leadership Team and the Digital Health Management Committee, actively contributes to the overall strategic and investment planning of Digital Health and is jointly accountable for the attainment of the Digital Health mandates and priorities by providing strategic guidance and execution as a cross-functional team and within their expert domains.

The Executive Director, Business Enablement oversees the management of foundational services such as Virtual Care and Digital Patient Solutions, Business Technology Solutions and the Digital Health Project Management Office.

What will you work on :

  • Accountable for the support of digital platforms and management of technology solutions / systems that fulfill the needs of the organization’s corporate services and meet service-level requirements.
  • Directs overall project management office functions for all aspects of Digital Health projects across Interior Health.
  • Responsible, in collaboration with the Executive Director, Clinical Informatics and the Executive Director, Technology Services, for a culture of information technology service management excellence by monitoring service delivery performance, ensuring project closure and post-implementation evaluation, measuring key outcomes and customer satisfaction and documenting lessons learned.
  • Remains knowledgeable with emerging developments in technology and best practice related to health information management, clinical best practices, corporate technology advancements that will improve overall operational performance and effectiveness.

Provides recommendations on potential applications, technologies, tools and practices.

Manages multi-disciplinary project teams with diverse expertise and competing interests to build cohesion, consensus, and commitment for achieving project objectives.

Oversees organizational implementations, ensuring readiness and change management for go-live and ongoing operations.

Develops and maintains strong partnerships with internal and external partners including physicians, other Health Authorities, Ministry of Health, PHSA, contracted resources and technology service providers to promote innovative opportunities and partnerships, inform key strategy development, coordinate with the provincial Digital Health strategy, and improve patient care and population health.

Works closely with internal partners (Digital Health, Clinical Operations and corporate departments) to promote technology driven initiatives.

Participates on provincial committees as required.

Interviews and selects leadership positions for the Business Enablement Portfolio. Determines the staff complement for work groups and project functions to meet project objectives.

Evaluates staff work performance. Responsible for the selection, evaluation, disciplining and, if necessary, terminations of staff.

Mentors staff to optimize performance. Establishes and monitors work targets for team members.

  • Ensuring technology platforms are maintained, current, and renewed / replaced on a lifecycle basis.
  • Implements Digital Health continuous improvement programs in compliance with technology standards and guidelines.
  • Oversees the formulation of business enablement technology policies, procedures, and performance management processes and measures.
  • Develops and oversees budgets, monitors expenses, analyzes variances, promotes optimal use of resources, and makes recommendations on current and future financial needs.
  • Responsible for the assessment and selection of external and internal technology capabilities and services with a focus on suitability for integration with the existing operations environment.
  • Experience with large enterprise ERP software or HCMS implementations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and post-secondary education.
  • 10-15 years of senior leadership experience in Information Technology including responsibility in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects.
  • Experience building communication and public relations plans and strategies.
  • Understanding of the Lean design & evidenced based design concepts will be an asset.
