BuildDirect (TSXV : BILD) is an omnichannel company with a focused approach to serving the North American professional flooring market.

The company currently operates as an omnichannel B2B retailer, facilitating connections between general and flooring contractors in North America and reputable suppliers offering a diverse array of building materials sourced globally, including flooring, tiling, and decking, among others.

Leveraging its network, BuildDirect imports products from various factories worldwide into its existing six Pro Centers, strategically positioned to fulfill e-commerce orders continent-wide while also catering to existing local professional customers in their respective markets.

The company's target clientele typically maintains enduring relationships with local independent retailers, presenting BuildDirect with market opportunities beyond the reach of enterprise retail channels.

In pursuit of expansion, BuildDirect has embarked on a growth plan, acquiring retailers across North America while pursuing greenfield development of new centers.

Doing so will require a CFO with strong financing and M&A experience who can partner with the CEO to grow and manage the business with high precision.

Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be a key contributor to the organization’s overall strategy and is accountable for the financial leadership and well-being of the business.

Collaborating with the CEO and the leadership team, the CFO will develop a growth strategy that optimizes capital structure, debt and equity financing, capital allocation, mergers and acquisitions, and prioritizing outcomes that generate economic value for investors, partners, and the leadership team.

Additionally, the CFO will establish and maintain overall accounting & tax policies and controls suitable for a cross-border merchant developer who is looking to expand into asset management.

BuildDirect operates under a corporate holding company model, managing corporate finance, tax FP&A, and investor relations corporately.

Each of the business units manages their transactional accounting. The CFO will lead the small corporate team and provide vision and leadership to the business unit finance teams.

Ensuring the business units comply with corporate policies, processes, and standards and deliver the accurate and timely information required for the corporate consolidations will be core to ensuring the organization presents accurate information to the board, investors, and lenders.

The ideal candidate brings experience as a CFO in a growth-stage entrepreneurial publicly traded, cross-border business with both organic and acquisitive growth strategies.

They have proven capital markets skills with a solid network and a track record of accessing debt and equity markets. Likes working in a business where navigating between strategic and tactical mandates is required.

The location of this role is flexible across Canada / Midwest / Western US.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is $250,000-$300,000 per year.
