Executive Director Position
CBDC Cumberland is a not-for-profit organization providing innovative financial assistance, business counseling, training and development to aspiring entrepreneurs and existing businesses with the goal of growing Cumberland County's local economy and increasing employment opportunities in the area.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is accountable for the leadership and direction of the corporation.
This is an essential position within our community and the board is seeking a knowledgeable, motivated and conscientious individual with demonstrated skills and competencies to lead the corporation.
The Executive Director supervises a staff of 2 business development officers and 1 administrator.
This is a salary position that requires occasional travel to meetings of the Nova Scotia Association of CBDC's and the Atlantic Association of CBDC's.
Mileage and meals are paid while attending meetings.
Working hours are Monday - Friday 8 : 30am to 4 : 30pm with one hour for lunch.
Qualifications : We are looking for someone with a strong financial background including a post-secondary education in business administration or equivalent, along with a minimum of five years' experience in managerial and leadership positions.
We are looking for and individual who is knowledgeable of small business profiles in the region, familiar with the challenges of fostering economic development in rural communities and has a strong background of volunteering and community engagement.
This is a full-time position with an anticipated start date in April or May 2024.
