Senior Software Test Developer

Job Description

What is the opportunity? As a Senior Software Test Developer, you will be responsible for building solution and framework as well as utilities to support testing initiatives, shift testing to the left and integrate various type of testing as part of the DevOps pipeline to enable continuous testing and quality first mindset to development. What will you do?

Design, implement and carry out the development necessary to build any automation solutions to support shift left and continuous testing in the DevOps pipeline.

Support and enable app teams to adopt SonarQube to improve code quality and test coverage (e.g. troubleshoot scan failure), and help defining guidelines and best practices.

Enable app teams to integrate qTest (a Test Case Management Solution) for tracking test executions and results in their DevOps pipeline.

Maintain and enhance our in-house developed platform / tool using the latest technologies such as NodeJS, React, Elasticsearch etc.

Build and expand our automated regression / smoke tests for our in-house build DevOps pipeline platform (e.g. Azure, Virtual Machine etc).

Create and build standardized Quality Metrics dashboards for all stakeholders to access and report on.

What do you need to succeed? Must-Have

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT with equivalent IT experience

5+ years’ experience in software development ( Java / Python ) and 3+ years using Javascript, Node.js, React with a thorough understanding of continuous integration testing (including Agile methodology).

Experience working with JIRA, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, VB, Windows, Linux, Shell scripting, Groovy.

Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

Knowledge of DevOps methodology and tools.

Sound knowledge of testing concepts.

Experience with Open Source and industry recognized testing tools (e.g. JMeter)

Experience in using Elasticsearch, Apache Kafka, Openshift / Docker, Grafana and version control tool like GIT etc.

Experience with API development and User Interface development.

Experience in writing SQL queries and Databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle etc.

Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
