About the Job :
The Public Health Nurse (PHN), as an integral member of the Public Health Services team :
- Provides nursing services within the framework of the Population Health / Health Promotion model
- Translate knowledge from the health and social sciences to support health enhancing behaviours to diverse individuals, families, and population groups through universal and targeted interventions, programs and advocacy
- Offers services in communities, schools, homes and outreach locations to individuals, families and communities
Inherent in the role are knowledge, skills and abilities specific to health promotion, epidemiology, community development, primary health care, social determinants of health and illness, and disease and injury prevention
This is a permanent part-time (0.49 FTE) opportunity.
Shifts of work are rotating days from 8 : 18 to 16 : 30.

Guided walking tours to wetlands, ponds and marshes in the area are usually first on visitor’s lists, when they arrive at this remarkable town.
Three kilometres north of 100 Mile House you will reach the turnoff that heads east to Canim Lake. During summer this beautiful area is fantastic for hiking, canoeing, boating and fishing.
Winter brings backcountry skiing, as well as snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dogsledding and sleigh rides.
Please note that travel is a requirement for this position and transportation arrangements must meet the Employer’s requirements.
You are required to hold a valid BC Driver’s License and may be required to drive a personal car on mileage and / or be assigned a fleet vehicle as a condition of employment.
