Our client is an investment firm dedicated to identifying and nurturing companies with premium brands and strong growth potential across various sectors, including Sporting Goods, Financial Services, and Real Estate.

Working with and reporting to the CFO during the transition period, the Director of Finance and Administration leads the finance, accounting, treasury, taxation, and administrative functions for the company, and certain of its related parties and clients.
After the transition period, the position will be reporting directly to the President. This position is responsible for financial and tax matters, shareholder relations, group administration, and office management.
Related parties and clients include controlled operating companies, passive investments, an actively managed investment portfolio, an arm's length investment company, and the controlled main management services company.

Job Requirements :
- Qualified Canadian CPA / CA with knowledge of applicable reporting standards
- 10+ years of experience in a financial oversight role
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Good commercial understanding and knowledge of business drivers
- Experience managing finance and treasury functions
- Familiarity with legal agreements, including shareholder’s agreements, employee contracts, capital structure agreements, commercial contracts and various governance documentation
- Good communication skills, including regular interaction with, and presentation to, senior management
- Ability to work independently, with strong organizational skills, professionalism and initiative
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Well-developed ethical and moral standards
- Knowledge of, and experience working with, capital and investment markets would be beneficial
