We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant, Corporate to join our client's downtown Toronto law firm. This role involves providing comprehensive administrative support to a team of senior lawyers, focusing on Canadian and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, reorganizations, and financings.
This position requires previous administrative support in Corporate and / or Financial Services Law.
Responsibilities :
- Create, edit, and format various legal documents with attention to detail.
- Prepare and finalize documents related to corporate reorganizations.
- Assemble and distribute signature packages and monitor delivery of closing documents.
- Assist in all administrative tasks related to corporate transactions and post-closing procedures.
- Handle administrative tasks including accounting, expenses, file management, billing, and e-filing.
- Draft correspondence and manage communication with clients. Requirements :
- Minimum of 3 years of legal administrative experience in either Corporate or Financial Services law environment.
- Completion of a post-secondary program in Legal Assistance or as a Law Clerk is a strong asset.
- Proficient with document comparison tools like Workshare Compare an asset.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 applications, especially in document creation and formatting.
- Familiarity with legal document management systems such as iManage and Aderant strong asset.
