Description :
The Instructor's primary role is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and excellence in nursing. Exercising adult principles of learning, the Instructor will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and / or evaluation. The Instructor's nursing practice will reflect a current, broad knowledge base, and excellent nursing skills that enable her / him to function as a role model and support staff in accordance with Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Instructor will function independently in formal and informal learning environments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.
Required Qualifications :
Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications :
Required three to five years of recent acute care nursing experience.Must be proficient working in a computerized environment including MS Office Suite, Connect Care, Microsoft Teams.6 months - 1 year recent acute nursing educator experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Excellent written and oral communication skills including strong presentation / speaking skills.A certificate in adult education is preferred.Experience in designing and delivering evidence based, innovative, learner-centric educational programs.Familiarity with simulation-based learning and other advanced educational technologies.Familiarity with learning management systems, Tableau, and audio-visual equipment.
